20 Pa.C.S. § 7738 authorizes trusts for the care of an animal alive during the settlor's lifetime. The trust ends at the death of the animal (or the last covered animal).
Caretaker
Name a primary and successor caretaker. The trustee holds the funds and distributes for the animal's benefit.
Funding amount
Pennsylvania courts can reduce funding 'to the extent the court determines that the amount substantially exceeds the amount required.' Don't overfund.
Remainder
Designate where leftover funds go at the animal's death — typically to a humane society or named individual.
